Our History
Ranger Chocolate Co. was founded by George Domurot and David Beanland in 2013. Their mission was to create the highest quality chocolate bars using organic, Fair Trade (or better!) and sustainably sourced ingredients. Located in Portland’s vibrant Central Eastside, our factory boasts a chocolate & coffee cafe with in-house baked goods, our full line of products, and seasonal treats. We make our chocolate from scratch (bean-to-bar) in our factory space — from roasting cacao through packaging. Our chocolate bars are hand-wrapped to precision — simple, exquisite and beautiful.
Our Mission
As one of Portland's first bean-to-bar chocolate makers, we pride ourselves not just on making exquisite chocolate, but on doing so in a way that promotes sustainable and ethical cacao production around the world. Our motto, "Always Faire Trade — or better" emphasizes our commitment to ethical and transparent trade practices. Our cacao is sourced through verified channels to ensure only the finest quality and highest standards of production.
We're lucky to be located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where we have been able to partner with a number of local businesses, restaurants, and organizations. You can find our bars and goodies all around town as well as on menus at various restaurants or being utilized by other confection companies.
